Project End Date:

Project Description:

This interdisciplinary project will incorporate the disciplines of behavioral neuroscience and virology. The project is housed within the Hope College Departments of Biology and Psychology. This project will advance preliminary work investigating the behavioral impact of HSV-1 latency. More specifically, this project will utilize a rodent model of HSV-1 latency to test the hypothesis that the virus modulates animal behavior. Experience with animal models and animal care is preferred. Additionally, the demonstration of independent planning and execution of protocols is highly desirable. All majors are welcome to apply to contribute to the understanding of how viral infections impact organismal behavior.
