Project End Date:

Project Description:

This interdisciplinary project will primarily incorporate the disciplines of Nursing and Biology. However, the project is specifically housed within the Hope College Department of Nursing. This project will build on the faculty memberís previous work related to the exploration of neuropsychiatric symptoms and genetics among individuals with Alzheimer Disease (AD) using the GenADA dataset as a validation cohort for her earlier work. The dataset of interest is based off the Multi-Site Collaborative Study for Genotype-Phenotype Associations in Alzheimer's Disease†(GenADA) with a sample of 1000 patients with AD and 1000 ethnically matched controls. The faculty member proposes to work collaboratively with an undergraduate student to apply for and gain access to the GenADA dataset and to perform some preliminary analyses as a foundation for a larger, future federal grant application.
